What Causes Itching Sensation In Body After Taking Moxikind And Combiflam For Fever?
Dear Sir, My son of 1.8 yrs old has been suffering from fever since 16th of this month. His doctor prescribed him moxikind cv (5 ml twice for 6 days) along with combiflam on sos basis on the 3rd day of fever. After 2 doses the fever did not recur but my son is highly irritable with etching. And the doctor again prescribed anti allergic medicine today. But nothing is helpful to him. Now am asking for your opinion is there any possibility of side affect due to moxikind cv which contains Amoxycillin and Potassium?
Allergic reactions can occur commonly with penicillin group of antibiotics. It is essential to stop the antibiotic and switch to other antibiotics if infection continues.
After stopping the drug, antihistamines should be used. One or two doses of steroids can be used in case of severe reactions.Any allergy to combiflam should also be ruled out.
Any difficulty in breathing or swallowing should be treated immediately since it can represent severe form of allergy called as anaphylaxis which needs to be treated at a hospital.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards Dr.Saranya Ramadoss, General and Family Physician
