What Causes Itching Sensation In The Left Thigh?

Hi, I ve just started experiencing an itching sensation in my upper left thigh 2 days ago. At first I thought I got bit then realized there were no signs of bites. When I scratch it, it feels better for a few moments. Its more like a pins and needles feeling now.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Although it is always better to see a dermatologist or even a primary care doctor as he or she can physically examine so far as a skin condition is concerned.
Anyways your description of symptoms suggests that most probably this is a fungal infection.
An Over-the-counter (OTC) anti-fungal and steroid cream should be sufficient if applied locally 2-3 times for a couple of days.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma
