What Causes Itching Sensation In Vagina After Having Unsafe Sex?
Hi, I am very new to this and don t have much experience with the vaginal area. This is very uncomfortable for me to talk about but I wanted to talk to someone on here first before going to a doctor. I started having to itch around my vaginal area a lot after last weekend. I had unprotected sex with a guy and ever since then I started itching. But then I started my period on Thursday so I didnt know if the itching was because of the sexual intercourse, my period about to start, or both. Thank you so much for helping me.
Itching in vagina may indicate fungal infection etc. You may need clinical examination and further tests. You may need routine hemogram, random blood sugar, urine RE/ME,culture of discharge(if there is any),etc. You may need specific drugs for fungus(candida is most common) like clotrimazole. Clotrimazole tablet(100 mg) of vaginal use can be taken. One tablet is to be inserted deep inside the vagina at night for six consecutive nights. You may also need perineal wash. Urinary tract infection should also be confirmed. However, skin reasons for local itching should also be evaluated.
