What Causes Itching Throughout The Body, Fever And Blotchy Skin While On Ciprofloxacin?
Hi I am 70 yrs old. I have a lymphedema condition that has my left leg on the angry side or infected. The doctors put me on 2 different antibiotics. One is ciprofloxacn and the other is rifampin. I have only been on the last one 2 days now. In the last two days I have become very itchy all over and feverish and now I am all blotchy on my skin and it s like red and even my urine has change to a orange color. I am having a time seeing somewhat. I am asking if you think it would be wise for me to go to the doctor about the reactions?
It looks like a drug reaction and of course you have to meet a doctor and take treatment for the reaction also you have to interrupt the treatment with Rimfapin and the doctor will replace it with another treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Gjustina Loloci, Allergist and Immunologist
