What Causes Itching/tingling Sensation In Ear With Fluid Discharge?

I have something going on with my left ear. There is an itching/tingling sensation and the part of the canal I can touch with my fingers is warm to the touch, additionally there is the occasional discharge of a clear fluid. If I press on the base of the ear there is a slight bit of sharp pain (similar to the pain you'd get if you pressed on a sore from an angle). I have gone to the doctor twice and neither treatment worked. First was Neomycin and Polymyxin B Sulfates and Hydrocortinsone Otic Suspension USP eardrops. Second treatment was a 14 day course of Amoxicillin 500mg pills taken twice daily. Neither has had any effect on my ear and it continues to itch. Having done some research and talked with a few people I am beginning to suspect that it's a boil but I am not a doctor and so am unsure.
