What Causes Itchy And Burning Skin All Over The Body?
I have itchy burning skin, like a sun burn, but not been in the sun or tanning bed. The dr that I see gives me an antibiotic and steroid for 2 weeks and eventually it goes away. But this is the second time in a year, what else can I do or what tests can I ask for.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy and burning skin all over the body. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like dermatitis , eczema , psoriasis , chickenpox , fungal rashes or scabies. Need not to worry. Avoid wearing tight clothes as it will leads to friction. I would suggest you to apply cold compresses to rashes to reduce redness and inflammation, take over the counter antihistamine like benadryl twice a day and protect your skin from direct sunlight . Consult dermatologist if condition doesn't get well . Doctor may order blood test , allergy test and skin patch test . Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants , anti inflammatory along with antibiotics depending upon the diagnosis .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
