Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Doctor, I have scar on chest from 3 cabg on 10/9/2015 and it seem to be inflamed at times and elevated red and wide and itch at times. I now have AFib which I take Multaq . I also was taken off Xanax some months ago when Obama started war on opiates although Xanax.25 is not an opiate Do you think there are doctors some where who would give me an rx for valium or something like that my does on Xanax was .25 once a day I get anxious and stressed out sometimes and angry about my past the way people treated me during that time and do what to difuse a potential stroke if it my be result of anxiety Thanks
There may be doctors that would temporarily give you valium for anxiety but it is in the family of benzodiazepines (like Xanax) and these meds are associated with dependence and tolerance (need more and more for the same effect).
There are medications that would help reduce your anxiety eg the SSRI meds eg Zoloft, Prozac, duloxetine, etc.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
