Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a red bump on my penis. I just noticed it today, it itches but doesn t burn and it doesn t hurt to pee. I ve had sex with my girlfriend unprotected but I m 110% sure that this wouldn t be an std caused by either one of us being unfaithful and also she s perfectly fine and not experiencing any symptoms. I m thinking it might be a bug bite since I do live out in the country and recently went shooting in tall grass, but you can t be too careful. Thanks for the help
Hi, Thanks for writing to HCM. After going through your description you have posted, the itching and red bump you are experiencing on your penis is more likely due to allergic reaction or contact dermatitis. You can do the following: 1. Wash the area with warm water using mild antiseptic solution like Savlon. 2. Dry the area using clean towel. 3. Apply Soframycin cream twice daily. 4. Take Tablet.Cetrizine 10mg tab once a day to control itch.
Take care not to scratch. Wear loose undergarments to keep the area well ventilated, especially while you sleep at night. Abstain from sex or masturbation till the lesions heal completely.
You should get better in a couple of days. All the best.
