What Causes Itchy Blisters On The Neck?

A week ago I thought I hadbeen bit on my neck, perhaps by a spider it was itchy - a few days after that a small rashly area appeared, with some very tiny blister like bumps. I have been using cortisone cream which helps for awhile but sill is very itchy and although I have no problems swallowing there is a sensation of something in my throats at times, very similar to when my gerd acts up only further down my throat where the rashly area is on the outside. Sometime my neck and into my ears is like a burning sensation

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to shingles.

I recommend using antiviral medication such as Acyclovir tablet.

I also recommend using the antiviral ointment for local application.

You should do the shingles vaccine to avoid further episodes of blisters.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
