What Causes Itchy Bumps On Arms And Knee Post Yeast Infection Treatment?
I have a yeast infection, small red and very itchy bumps started appearing. Started using monistat 7 for it 2 days ago and they are starting to disappear. Now I m starting to get flesh colored bumps on my arms and now my knee. SO itchy. They don t hurt and are not breaking out into sores. Is it possible to have the yeast infection spread? I have a scrubber I clean my body with that I use to clean my genitals. Even with my yeast infection I used that scrubber to clean myself then the rest of my body.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Fungal infection is contagious or communicable thus using scrubber on part affected by fungal infection followed by other parts of body could spread the fungal infection. Thus, you need to discontinue using same scrubber for affected region and un-affected parts of the body till the infection (red and itchy bumps) is fully cured. You can consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment of the newly developed bumps. In case they are also due to fungal infection, you need to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management with anti-fungals.
Thanks and take care DR Shailja Puri
