What Causes Itchy Buttocks?

About two hours after the last two times I have gone swimming the top of my buttcrack has started itching uncontrollably. They were not the same pool or anything. And it s nowhere else on my body that itches. Just the very top of my butt crack and right above where it ends. What s wrong??

Hi,

Dermatologic conditions are hard to discuss without seeing them. This is a very common spot to have a minor skin fungus. One CAN get boils or abscesses or other bacterial infection or just nerves. Mostly you'd notice the boils / abscesses / infection and mostly there would be more than one spot for nervous itching. Skin fungus though, can occur there. It looks basically like diaper rash if you can see it. Over the counter yeast medicine might help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
