What Causes Itchy Hives On The Body After Travelling?

My mom and I just returned from a trip in Vietnam on 7/24. Before we landed she developed some throat constriction, but not severe. Then she developed itchingness and after that, she developed hives all over her body. Her doctor gave her Benadryl shot, start her on a short course of prednisone, Vistaril po prn. Nothing seems to help. She has had 2 more shot of Benadryl, has tried po Benadryl, phenergan, Zyrtec, hydrocortisone cream, triamcinolone cream. This is now more than a week. Allergy test was done and pending result, anything we should be worried of? Will ask for script for Epipen just in case. She s now just got started on Medrol dose pak
