What Causes Itchy Hives On The Peripheral Body?

I am a senior citizen;;;when I was about 1 1/2 years old my mother told me I developed a condition she called acradinia (SP?). The doctor (pediatrician) thought I had contracted either scarlet fever or red measles and this condition came from that. In my teen years I had red measles My mother said back then I had been exposed to a young person with either one of those diseases of childhoold. Are you familiar with the term. It evidently disappeared before too long...My doctor told Mom that it felt like hundreds of tiny fleas (?) were on my extremeties...itching and bothering me greatly. I got over it and had no lingering affects that I know of. Can you explain this condition to me?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to allergic reaction. For that you can apply hydrocortisone ointment locally. For itching you can take tablet loratidine. Maintain proper hygiene. In case of severe itching, breathing problem, you may require urgent medical care.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
