What Causes Itchy Patches Of Skin Over The Knuckles?
Besides having knuckle pads, I have very dry itchy patches of skin over the knuckle areas. It can get very dry and very itchy, enough that I can not go to sleep. I put three different saves on them daily but it only keeps it from getting too bad. What can it do for it?
Hard patches of skin over the knuckle is a common condition. It can be due to benign skin hypertrophy, eczema. If its eczema it can be very well managed by means of topical steroids and avoiding any irritant which causes the itch. For itch take oral antihistamine. It could be dermatitis or psoriasis too. Do you have pain in your joints? Schedule an appointment with a dermatologist he will prescribe it you will be fine in no time.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Melita Wesley,
