Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a straight line rash on one buttock... It looks like a scratch but is raised and itchy... I am allergic to condoms but used them last week.... Could that be the cause? FYI...Also, coincidentally I was std tested last week and got a clean bill of health (because my boyfriend and I wanted to move forward safely). It s been there since friday. I started taking benedryl today.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have itchy raised rashes on the buttock which seems to be due to improper cleanliness of area, due to hair follicle infection by bacteria leading to foliculitis, clogging of skin pores and due to fungal infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to maintain cleanliness of area and keep it dry. You should apply topical antibacterial ointment mupirocin on it. You should take diet rich in multivitamins and drink plenty of fluids to rehydrate yourself. Avoid touching or pricking it. Wear loose clothes. Take oral antibiotic course as well. Visit dermatologist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
