What Causes Itchy Rash On Buttocks Radiating To The Back Of Thigh?
I have these bumps/rash that started on my left but cheek and is now spread about a quarter way down the side of and behind my thigh. They itch like crazy and bleed when scratched and then they scab over and itch some more. This has been going on about a year and hasn t spread anywhere else, just in that area. Not sure what it is, but is quite annoying.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Itchy rash is most commonly due to fungal infection. However, there are many other primary skin lesions which can cause rash and are itchy. Fungal infection if not treated can spread. Fungal infection is common in areas which remain wet and the rash thus formed can spread. A clinical assessment is required to diagnose the condition and to start treatment. Fungal infection is usually diagnosed clinically but other skin lesions may required biopsy in addition to clinical assessment. Prompt consultation with a dermatologist is required because the rash is bleeding and intensely itchy thus quick relief is required.
