Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My Dad will be 99 this May; he is on just 5 mg lisinopril daily and this is the only heart med he is on now. He is now suffering from an itchy rash over his arms and back; what is the actual risk of stopping the lisinopril to determine if he is having a delayed reaction?
Thanks for posting your query on HCM! I really appreciate your concern for your Dad. Lisinopril can produce this type of allergic rash. If you want to check whether or not it is due to Lisinopril, if you stop the medication the BP might increase. Kindly consult the doctor who prescribed this medication he might switch over to another one with less chances of development of rash. Take care.
