Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 2 yr old grandson has a raised bumpy rash that developed over a week ago. The dr here claimed it was a allergic reaction to something and gave him prednisone and a cortisone cream. He has since only been bathed with Ivory soap and the only laundry detergent used on his bedding and clothes has been All free and clear. The rash dissipated for awhile but is back full force now. Could they have misdiagnosed him? He is scratching and is just miserable. He seems to get relief from Aveeno baths and Aveeno oil but it is not helping the rash go away.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy rashes in a toddler. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like allergic reaction, chickenpox, urticaria, psoriasis and due to increased susceptibility of body. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to cover the skin and protect it from direct sunlight , apply petroleum jelly and apply cold compresses to reduce redness and inflammation . Also keep your baby hydrated.
