What Causes Itchy Rashes On Buttocks And Lower Back Upon Alcohol Intake?
Do i have an allergy to alcohol? I m 18 and i ve only drank alcohol to the point where i m only tipsy and not at all drunk. On the two occasions that I have (i have drunk alcohol a couple times but only a very minimal amount and no rash) , i have developed this red rash around my bum and lower back. It itches a lot- it feels like pins and needles especially when my clothing brushes against my skin... Then i have the urge to scratch it but when i do, the itching feeling becomes a lot stronger and sometimes it gets unbearable. It lasts for about a few days.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy rashes on buttocks and lower back upon alcohol intake which could be due to allergic reaction or sensitivity from alcohol intake. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to clean your skin with rashes with mild soap and warm water gently , do not rub your skin , wear loose cloths , stop using any cosmetic or any skin product and take antihistamine like benadryl. You should avoid intake of alcohol and if ever you will take drink plenty of fluids and salad along with it. I condition doesn't get well or get worse then consult dermatologist for proper evaluation of the condition . Doctor will take history and examine physically , doctor may order skin patch test or blood test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may give adrenaline short , antiviral or anti bacterial medicine depending upon the diagnosis.
