What Causes Itchy Rashes On The Body While On Methotrexate?

HI, I am a 56 year old woman. I suffer from RA. I have been having flare ups for the past two weeks. I saw my doctor today. I am taking methotrexate 6 once a week. I haven t been taking pain med s for over a year. As I am scared of addiction. So because of my continues and unbearable pain, I have been taking 2 percocet and 3 alleve every four hours. I know it causes constipation, but I needed relief. Now I have itchy rash. I have been constipated for over a week constipated. Does constipation causes rash?

No, constipation can not cause rash. Most common cause for itchy rash on back is skin infection. Methotrexate is immuno modulator drug. It can cause decrease in immunity and made you vulnerable for infection like viral infections. So better to consult dermatologist for clinical examination of rashes. You may need anti viral tablets and cream.
