What Causes Itchy Rashes On The Body With Elevated White Blood Cell Count?

I have had a rash that itches for almost two weeks. I ve been to my physician four times. Two days in a row, I received steroid and antibiotic injections. Then I was put on the oral steroid, Prednesone, weaned down after 4 days. During this time, the rash spread from my neck, face and back of head to my arms and torso (FRONT AND BACK). Heat aggravates the intensity and the itching of the rash. My doc ordered blood work last week and found white blood cell count was elevated, so he gave me 4 more days of oral steroids and AMOX/K 875-125MG. In the last few days, the rash is completely around my torso from top of panty line to bottom of bra line. Last night the rash on my back torso burned like it was chafed. I m still very uncomfortable today. I stay inside the A/C, but still have the condition. HELP!!!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Certain viral infections do present with such skin eruptions and annoying discomfort at systemic level. However, if you can provide a photo picture of the lesion if no objection and detailed scanned reports of lab work, I can still guide further precisely to cure at earliest.

Till that time, a bath with lukewarm water added epsom salt will help a great.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
