What Causes Itchy Rashes On The Chest?

I am 70 years old and have not ever had chicken pox so I m wondering what these 3 flat patches of itchy rash are on my side and near my breast. Could it be shingles or simply a reaction to a food I ve eaten in the last few days ? It s itchy more than painful. Ive put an over the counter topical on it which temporarily removes the itch. However , it comes right back. The first patch appeared two days ago.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Since they are only 3 itchy rashes, it is less likely to be chicken pox or shingles. It may just be a local skin skin reaction to an irritant or a local skin infection.I will suggest you get an anti-itch cream like benadryl or betamethasone cream and apply on it.If symptoms persist or become extensive , you see the Doctor for examination.
Hope this will help
Wish you good health
