What Causes Itchy Rashes On The Face During Menopause?

Hi i have been getting a rash ( on my face 1/2 cheeks forehead chin & nose) very red very hot very sore and slightly itchy, I have seen an immunologist who says its not food relatedand a dermatologist who did blood tests and says there is nothing significant. I am on oestrogen patches for menopause ( have been for 6 mths now) my Dr has increased it to 50mg ( 2 weeks ago) patches each week my flair ups seems to decrease but are now starting again can it be related to menopause? What can I do?

Hello,

I believe that the rashes you were expecting were as a result of hormonal changes due to menopause. The fact that you feel better after increasing estrogen intake supports this fact. You can continue with this estrogen intake.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
