What Causes Itchy Rashes On The Legs?

I went to the doctor a week ago with a bad rash on my legs. She barely looked at it and said it was scabies. I told her I hadn t been anywhere that I could have gotten them as as well as my family doesn t have anything wrong with them at all. It is not in any typical area scabies would be either. She went ahead and treated me with steroids and cream. A week later I m still itching and have random spots pop up itching really bad. Some of them go away and some stay. What could this be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to scabies.

I recommend using Permethrin cream which is a topical cream that contains chemicals that kill scabies mites and their eggs.

I also recommend using antihistamines daily to relieve the itching.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
