Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Itchy Rashes On The Shin And Sore Throat?
I developed a rash with blisters on my shin this weekend. Became very itchy last evening. Treating with Benadryl. Cream and tablets. Only other symptom is fatigue. This morning I woke with a sore throat with swollen glands in my neck. Could the two be related?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Yes, these two symptoms are related. Both are due to viral infection. Viral infection is known to cause skin problems rashes and upper respiratory tract infection (URTI). URTI gives you symptoms of sore throat and swollen neck glands. So drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated. Avoid oily, spicy and hard to chew food. Do warm water gargles and steam inhalation 4-5 times a day. Continue benadryl. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these in 1 week. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
