What Causes Itchy Rashes On Wrist, Fingers And Legs Along With Fever?
My 4 yr old has an itchy rash on her wrist. It comes and goes and had been checked by her doctor. It seems to get worse when she gets a runny nose. We put muripricin ointment on it as needed at night and use goldbond eczema cream daily (which seems to help). Our doctor says she is shedding a virus. Her rash or the red bumps are increasing and going to her fingers and her antecubital area. Some on her legs around the bends of her leg. What kind of virus causes this? She does not have a fever or sore throat.

Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like acute meningitis , chickenpox , contact dermatitis , erythema nodosum and heat rash . The symptoms can also occur due to allergy from sweat , do not apply any cosmetic product , protect it from direct sunlight and apply cold compresses . I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may order blood test , allergy test and skin patch test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants and corticosteroid ointment along with antibacterial or antiviral depending upon the diagnosis . For now take benadryl twice .
