What Causes Itchy Red Blisters On The Skin?

Hello Doctor and thank you for taking my question. My symptoms are skin eruptions, looking and acting much like a chicken pox blister. They are singular, red welts with a blister pocket that itches. They have been occuring about 1 week, lasting about one week. They are on mainly my right arm and arm pit, with only one on the opposite arm and two on my upper chest. I ve had a yeast infection 2 weeks ago. Only other symptom was a slight headcold lasting about 5 days, no fever. I had chicken pox as a child. I am going on a 2 week vacation on Sunday; is this anything to be alarmed about?

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy red blisters on the skin which seems to be due to allergic reactions to substances causing irritation of the skin, contact dermatitis and could be due to hormonal changes.

Need not to worry. Take plenty of fluids. I would suggest you to apply cold compresses on them. You should take antihistamine like benadryl , do not pick them at all and apply moisturizer . If condition doesn't get better then consult dermatologist for proper examination and rule out cause like chicken pox . Doctor may prescribe corticosteroid or antibiotics course .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
