What Causes Itchy Red Bumps In Groin Area In A Child?

My son has some bumps that are red, inflamed, and are burning and itching. They are under his genitalia just before the rectum. I tried to put some Baza Barrier cream (I think it comtains Zinc) and it burned to the point where he was almost in tears. Is this something I should worry about or is it just a little jock itch?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that there might be having some soft tissue infection producing boils and swelling.
This can be due to friction or diaper rash, worm infestation or poor local hygiene.
He might require one course of antibiotic medicine for 3-5 days.
Apply antibiotic cream after proper cleaning.
Ok and take care.
