What Causes Itchy Red Foot Rashes Caused After Wearing Boots?

I have a rash that started a few weeks ago. Starts out bright red no blisters that Iv seen. The. It turn a darker shade and goes away after a few days. I thought it was just a heat rash but I m not sure. Every time I wear my combat boots or cowboy boots with long socks it comes back. But not when I wear my hiking boots that are only ankle high with ankle socks. It doesn t hurt or anything so I m just wondering what it is. My next appointment with my doc isn t for another two weeks so.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Very likely you develop local irritation due to the boots and you might be better if you use a combination of an antifungal cream and a steroid cream, for example, miconazol cream and betamethasone cream on the area. Try to keep the area dry and wear cotton socks.

If no improvement with this treatment or any worsening please see your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
