What Causes Itchy Red Pimples On The Back While On Wellbutrin?

My husband has a constantly itchy back. There are red pimple s on his back . It occurs to me that it just gets worse cause he is just breaking the pimples open again when he scratches. The only things that he has changed recently is; he stop drinking alcohol on a daily basis morning, noon and night and has been on Wellbutrin about 2 months. Any input....?

Hi

I understood your concern about your Husband's condition.
Wellbutrin is contra-indicated in abrupt withdrawal of Alcohol.

As per the said symptoms, it might be skin rash which is a side effect of Wellbutrin. However the right diagnosis can be ruled out by direct observation and Check ups.

Please report the condition immediately to your doctor so that he can prescribe an alternative.

You can also consult a Dermatologist for a proper diagnosis and treatment.

Other side effects of Wellbutrin are nausea, migraine, insomnia, pharyngitis, urinary frequency or retention, hot flushes, dysphagia, flushing etc.

Wish you and your Hus Good health

Thank you
