What Causes Itchy Red Spots On Torso And Feet While On Bactrim For Glandular Fever?

My daughter, 25 is on bactum for a glandular infection, this is the 7th day of a 10 day prescription. Gland was lanced, and she has stitches. She came home from work last night with itching red flat spots on her torso and bottom of her feet. It has now spread to her face and the bumps are raised. She is allergic to benedril and amoxicillin.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have symptoms of itchy red spots on torso and feet while on Bactrim for glandular fever. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like allergic reaction , side effect, eczema and it could be due to seborrheic dermatitis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to keep the site clean and dry , apply over the counter antibiotics ointment , take over the counter anti histamine like benadryl and protect it from sun ray exposure . If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe corticosteroid ointment , antibiotics or immunosuppressants .
