What Causes Itchy Skin Followed By Breakouts, Rashes And Blisters?

I have an itchwhich gravitates into a skin disorder and eventually the skin breaks and cracks and goes dry and blisters and a rash develope and leak a watery fluid. A name has been given to me called Pomphlox not sure of exact spelling. Could that be my problem and what has caused it and more importantly how do I get rid of it? Cheers, Brian

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy skin followed by breakouts, rashes and blisters which seems to be due to allergic reaction to cosmetics, foods, detergents, poison ivy which can cause allergic dermatitis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start taking anti allergics medications such as Allegra. Application of calamine lotion will be effective to soothe the skin. Apply cold compresses over itchy rashes. You should maintain proper cleanliness and avoid scratching the bumps to prevent infection. If symptoms still keeps on persisting you should visit dermatologist once and get it examined. Go for patch test and blood tests and start treatment after proper prescription. You should apply a steroid ointment like cortisone over the rash area for relieving inflammation and itching.
