What Causes Itchy Skin On The Legs During Winters?
Hi. Every winter I get itchy skin on one of my legs, usually it starts as dry skin and after itching, bumps appear and don t go away until it gets warm out so I can get my legs in the sun. Then, it all clears up until next winter. What can I do to keep this from happening? I haven t found anything like lotions to really stop it. Thanks, Brian
It seems this is due to your dry skin and it is best to treat your legs with moisturizing creams daily and sometimes a few times a day to help with it since with the start of the winter so they don't progress to bumps and other lesions.
After each bath, you can use bath oils to help the skin stay healthy. You might also need to be cautious and notice if there is any worsening with certain products as sometimes patients might develop a local reaction to the chemicals itself. Try to avoid showering daily during the winter times as frequent showering might contribute to the dry skin and problems.
If the moisturizing creams and bath oils are not helping enough you can add a steroid cream on the area to reduce inflammation and prevent itchiness and the bumps.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
