What Causes Itchy Sores In The Nasal Opening?

I take nasacort and also patanase. But now as before my nose is itching and has sores and redness at the opening. Sort of like dandruff but hurts. Another doctor gave me mometasone Furoate cream but I am out of it. Is it okay to use hyrdocortisone Valerate Cream? Or is there something over the counter I can get.
