What Causes Itchy Wart Like Development On Scrotal Area?
I am having some black wart type of things in the scrotal sac area of mine. Due to humidity the area often itches which is common and has often been taken care by me. However this wart type of things have been noticed for the last 6-7 mnths and they are 5-6 in number presently. Recently due to some accidental scratching or some such reason, i found blood stains in my underwear and it seemed that perhaps one of those things got disturbed and bled. What can be done about these ?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Wart like lesions need to be examined clinically to find out whether they are actually 'warts'. Wart is caused by a virus called Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). The infection is transmitted sexually and it predisposes to cancers of genital tract and upper aero-digestive tract. Thus, it important to diagnose the conditions and treat them. I suggest you to consult a venerologist for clinical assessment and thus management of the warts. Till the time warts are cleared, you are suggested to avoid unprotected sex to avoid the transmission of infection, if present.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
