What Causes Itchy Welts On The Body After Being Bitten By Mosquitoes?
hi 3 weeks ago i was attacked by mosquitoes, i received around 20 bites. They were large welts and extremely itchy. 17 have healed and vanished but there are 3 that have healed but the scar remains red and itchy. I have never experienced this before and would love to treat this asap. Any advice would be welcome
As per your complain itchy welts on the body after being attacked by mosquitoes and if still a few are itchy and red then there is a possibility that they are infected leading to redness, inflammation and itching. I would suggest you to apply Triple antibiotic ointment over it.
You can take Benadryl to reduce itching. Keep the area clean and do cool compresses over it. See for a period of 3 to 4 days and in case if there is improvement you can continue the same. But if it does not improve or exaggerate then you should consult a Physician and get evaluated and a course of oral antibiotics can be advised along with topical medications.
Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
