What Causes Jaundice After Stent Insertion In Bile Duct?
My husband had a stent inserted into his bile duct 3 weeks ago, his jaundice seems to have become worse today yet he has no pain just the same discomfort he's had since the ERCP. He's not feverish just feeling fatigue and has had no appetite since he became unwell. He is waiting for surgery to have his gall bladder removed. Does he need to see his doctor again or go to A+E or is it OK ?
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can. He needs to see surgeon since jaundice is sign that there is blockage of bile ducts and it should be treated promptly. It may be blocked by stone or by tumors. In every case, early treatment is required to prevent cholangitis and other serious complciations.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
