What Causes Jaw Pain After Removal Of Wisdom Tooth?

I just had my bottom left wisdom tooth pulled Friday..I'd been to the e.r. 3 times since November for pain with it..the pain was usually along the bottom left side of my jaw to right in between my bottom two front teeth. The wisdom tooth was erupted and broken. No pain during surgery and hardly any after. I've started waiting longer to take my ibuprofen and now I'm noticing pain underneath the tooth that is two away from the wisdom tooth site..the dentist never mentioned anything for that tooth..I've read about referred pain..could that be what this is???

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain and the explanation of the region of pain it seems that the pain is not originating from the region of wisdom tooth as you told that pain is in tooth that is two teeth away from wisdom tooth.

It clearly shows that the pain is originating from the other tooth and pain from that tooth is radiating to the rest of the jaw..

I would suggest you to consult a dentist and get evaluated by taking a x-ray to rule out the exact cause of pain as the other tooth must have got infected and causing pain and in that case Root Canal treatment of the other tooth can provide relief.

For pain you can take Ibuprofen or in case of severe pain Tramadol can help..

Hope this information helps..
