What Causes Jaw Pain Radiating To The Back Of The Head?
My sister is c/o jaw pain numbness, L shaped pain left side head thru bottom of back of head pain and it's like little shocks in her chest, with some tightness in her throat. She just had an Mri of her head on Friday and Ct chest with contrast also both negative. She also had lots of lab work, all with normal range with the exception of her thyroid but she had that removed about 2/3 years ago and they are always adjusting her medication.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of jaw pain radiating to the back of the head the most probable reason for that could be temporomandibular joint diseases.
I would suggest you to go to nearby dentist and get complete evaluation done. You should start treatment accordingly. It could be due to systemic causes as well.
- You should take soft food substances and use mastication forces in even distribution.
- Do mouth exercises daily to prevent locking of TMJ joint.
- Take pain killer along with muscle relaxants.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
