hi doctor i have sinusitis according to my doctor they gave me something to take for it but didnt help now it moved to my chest im coughing day and night i just tried putting vicks on the bottom of my feet but wen i went to bed and laid down started coughing again the wife works so im downstair shes upstairs im retired and 66.now im on zpac i took 2 first day and one today also they gave me cough syrup with codeine to supress it only helps for a bit and i start coughing again also noticed all my joints are aching ,i quit smoking 36 years ago dr wants me to have chest xray next
You have developed upper respiratory tract infection and it needs to be treated with proper antibiotics. Since you are already taking Z-Pak which contains Azithromycin you should continue taking it and complete the course. Also, take steam inhalation as it will help to relieve the congestion in your chest. You can also take an antihistamine like levocetirizine to relieve the irritation in the throat. You should get a chest x-ray done as soon as possible to rule out bronchitis as you have a history of smoking.
