Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Joint Pain And Itchy Skin While On Arimidex?
Will you please tell me if all the problems I am having are a result of taking Arimidex. I had a radical bi-lateral mastectomy 4 years ago and had chemo and then started Arimidex. I have horrible pain in my joints and have started having night sweats and itchy skin.
As per my clinical experience, the Arimidex contains Anastrozole which is a non steroidal aromatase inhibitor drug. It is used for the cancer patient to treat breast cancer in post menopausal women. There are many side effects of the Arimidex as: - GI upset, nausea, vomiting - Abdomen bloating - Diarrhea - Weight gain - Muscle cramps - Breast tenderness - Hot flashes - High blood pressure - Dizziness - Skin rashes - Others Kindly discuss the issue with your doc for further guidelines.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
