Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have been taking 9mgs of Entocort for a rare auto immune disease that took several years to diagnose. It s called Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis. That is what was determined in 2012 but the rheumatology clinic at UCSF wanted me to follow up with them because there was a high count of eosinophils in my bone marrow as well. Recently I have been experiencing hip, neck and joint pain despite the fact that I am in good physical condition and am on a strict Paleo diet (anti-inflammatory). Could the Entocort be causing this joint pain after all these years of taking it or could this just be the auto immune disease presenting in different parts of my body?
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
Entocort is used to reduce inflammation and pain in the system. So,it is not likely to cause joint pain. The joint pain is more likely to be related to the autoimmune disease and should be evaluated by a rheumatologist.
