What Causes Joint Pain While On A Generic Bactrim?

Hello, I was given a generic brand of Bactrim for cellulitis on the left side of my waist. I m experiencing a great amount of joint pain since taking it. I can barely walk down the stairs. I usually am active, going to the gym for cardio and weights. Is there anything I can take to counteract the joint pain and will this pain subside in a week when I am finished the dosage. Thank you. I am over 60.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As you have difficulty in down stairs, it may be due ligament injury. Kindly consult with orthopedics, you may require X-ray or MRI of affected joints. Sometimes it may be due to viral infection. Keep your self hydrated. You can take tablet Aceclofenac for pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale,
