Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Prolia, one side effect is joint problems...at 77 years, how can I determine if joint problems are age related or Prolia related. What are the percentages of patients who actually experience Prolix related joint problems? YYYY@YYYY
Prolia contains denosumab that is used in the treatment of bone loss or osteoporosis in people who have a high risk of getting fractures. But like other medications this medication has some side effects of its own. Prolia can cause joint pain. It may cause back pain (35%), joint pain (14.3%), arthralgia (14%), pain in extremity (12%) and many more side effects. If you notice these types of side effects, then you should inform your doctor immediately for medical help and further assessment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further
