What Causes Joint Stiffness In Toes And Ankles In The Mornings?

I have joint stiffness in my toes and ankles most noticeably every morning. It is difficult to walk for the first ten minutes after getting out of bed. I don t notice the symptoms much at any other time of the day. I am 46 years old and do not have any other medical conditions.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
What symptoms you are complaining of about joint stiffness in the early morning could be early signs of rheumatoid arthritis.
Kindly get the following investigations done.
1. Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR).
2. Serum Uric acid.
3. RA factor.
4. ASO titre.
Kindly consult Rheumatologist or Orthopaedic surgeon for clinical evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
