What Causes Kidney Pain And Cramping When Diagnosed With Depression, Lupus And Crohn S?
Hi, my name in Ashley. I am a 31-yaer old female. I suffer from several medical issues. I have been diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety, asthma, chronic back pain, Lupus and chrons disease. About 3 days ago I started having really bad kidney pains. The past 2 days I have been getting cramps, coming and going every 2-3 minutes. They almost feel like contractions. No, I am not pregnant, but I have given birth before. What could this be? I don t want to have to go the the ER again and sit for hours just to have them send me home again.
The pains which your have described as kidney pain does not seem to be related to lupus however kidneys can get affected with lupus and bring symptoms like blood in urine, frothy urine, swelling over feet and ankles etc. The pain could be due to Crohn's disease and you might be taking it as kidney pain. Crampy pains in kidney areas are usually due to kidney or ureter stones.
I would advise you to take pain killers like Dicyclomine, Drotaverine for the cramps which are available over the counter and also visit your treating doctor at the earliest for further investigations instead of ER and get above probable diagnosis ruled out.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
