What Causes Kidney Pain While Taking Lisinopril?

I am a 74 year old woman and have been taking Lisinoprinol 25 mg for 15 years. It keeps my blood pressure OK but my physical always indicates low kidney function and I have a weird pain in my left kidney. I have had kidney stones but is not a stone. Is there any other blood pressure that is easier on my kidneys?

Hello,

In my opinion the pain is not related to the Lisinopril intake, it might be related to any urinary tract infection. I suggest you to have an urine analysis done.

For hypertension, you can take :
-Beta blocker for hypertension treatment, for example Metoprolol, or Nebivolol.
-Calcium channel blockers as Lercanidipine or a diuretic drug as Hydroclorthiazide
-These are all good options for hypertension treatment, in patients with altered renal function.I suggest you to consult these options with your nephrologist.
