What Causes Knee Cramps After A Medial Compartment Replacement?

Had medial compartment replacement on L knee in October 2015. Have knee cap cramping daily. I continue to exercise and do stretching daily. I find my situation extremely frustrating and fatiguing. Is there anything I m missing in my continuing Rehab? Thank You, Judy

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Knee cramps after medial compartment replacement commonly occurs due to soft tissue impingement due to mal-alignment, implant alignment problems, suprapatellar bursitis, patello femoral knee cap problems, etc.

You are suggested to get a follow up examination done by your treating surgeon. Get blood tests & Imaging tests done. Get diagnosed of the pathology causing you discomfort.

Your treating doctor will treat you with medicines, therapy & surgery if needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
