What Causes Knee Pain While Flexing Post Meniscus Surgery?

Hi, I had an ACL/meniscus surgery back in November. I am pretty much healed, my doctor released me to do anything i wanted to. However, in the gym or riding my bike it feels like there is a grinding when i flex or extend my knee. What is this? Is there anyway I can fix this myself? its quite painful and I was going to bring it up with my doctor when i went back in August for a check up on my knee.

Hi,

The quality of pain can be quite helpful in finding the cause. Key point is the localization. Often it is entirely outside of the knee. In which case, tendons or muscles or scarring are common not very serious causes. Inside, would be a bit surprising post replacement except for the areas of attachment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
