Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Knee Pain While On A Titanium Knee Rod?
I had titanium knee replacements in 2009, and they have been great. However, my right knee is beginning to ache. I just went to the hospital (out patient) with a pinched sciatic nerve on my right side. Would that cause the pain I m experiencing, or should I have this knee checked out?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
If it is a sciatic pain coming from the back, then obviously it is not the knee directly. However, it is common that changes in the patterns of weight bearing from feet/ankle/knees puts different strains on the back, and this can trigger back problems. This is fixable by good orthopedic/physical therapists.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Matt Wachsman
